WELL DONE, ALVA COMMUNITY!

Thank you AGAIN for answering the CALL TO ACTION in a BIG WAY!

Our community came together IN FORCE and represented us well!

Today is another small victory, and another significant step in the right direction.

This morning, at the annual Lee County Legislative Delegation meeting, Spencer Roach requested the “Duke Farms Special District”proposed bill be withdrawn from the agenda. He suggested there needs to be more time for the other delegates to further research details surrounding the bill.

Senator Kathleen Passidomo acknowledged that she had received hundreds of emails over the weekend from concerned citizens and she also admitted that she had not had the opportunity to adequately review the proposed bill.

In his comments to the media after the delegation meeting adjourned, Representative Spencer Roach communicated that he still supports the bill and further clarified that he believes it  “will happen one way or another.”

Given the obscured and narrowly publicized details of today’s proposed bill, and Representative Roach’s comments regarding the future of the bill, we will be more vigilant in our pursuit of any details concerning future legislative actions to create a special district for the Duke+Cary+Povia and Owl Creek Properties by Neal Communities.
